Do you really think he speaks to himself?

I was thinking about how he has bugs living inside of him, but I believe that's just a myth.

The reason Shino talks to himself is because he is the host of the 11 tailed beast, the Destruction Bug Queen. She gives him all those insect spiders and gives their clan members insect to make it seem like its just insects living in them all and nothing more. In reality, it's a tradition to protect the host of the 11 tailed beast against possible threats like Akatsuki who want those bijuus for themselves.

Shino appears to be talking to himself but he is talking to his Bijuu, coordinating strategies and plans to make their moves.

The reason he speaks loudly is because he's compensating for his lack of friends or people that even remember him. Supported by the fact that he's not shown in the below gif, he wasn't invited.
